Skord Marijuana a top Washington-based marijuana producer out of Battle Ground Washington that is known for growing one genotype incredibly well: Cookies! Today, it’s funny to think about, but this incredibly popular strain wasn’t terribly well-known in the Evergreen State state until about 2014. Isn’t it interesting how things can change so dramatically in just a few years?
Ironically, the good word about how Cookies genuinely lives up to the hype in aroma and experience had to travel all the way up from California — but don’t hold that against it!
Skord Marijuana’s state-of-the-art facility conforms to some of the most rigorous standards in the industry, so there’s obviously lots of emphasis on technology. But the folks behind the scenes know that even the best equipment won’t work without the right people, and the wealth of botanical and production knowledge its team brings to every batch guarantees a delectable, world-class product time after time.
Skord was founded in 2015 by Josh Andersen, Ron Goldman, Hugh Woods and John Andersen. SKöRD (a Swedish word meaning “harvest”) has been planing on setting up a building to grow marijuana since 2013. Skord’s is the only facility in Battle Ground that grows, processes concentrates and oils, and produces marijuana edibles.
One of the biggest road blocks in starting their operations was obtaining funding since marijuana is still illegal federally. The founders relied on their own funds including their 401k and selling some rental properties. The group has been working on different recipes for their edibles including gluten free brownies. The edibles are estimated stay fresh for 3 to 4 weeks and the company plans to work with recreational dispensary retailers to keep their products up to date for Washington State cannabis consumers.
Skord concentrates on flower and marijuana concentrates with the emphasis being on flower. Everything grown at Skord’s is from cannabis seeds and not clones. Skord’s owners have a passion for marijuana and only the four co-founders are allowed to touch the plants in their custom designed building. Skord’s has a huge seed bank to choose from and are very picky of the flowers they bring to the Washington State I-502 Market. Some of their more popular marijuana strains include Hell’s Fire, Strawberry Fields, and Nightmare Cookies.
